Founded by restaurateur John Vartanian in 1966, The Vintage Press has been family-owned and operated since its inception. It was envisioned to be a fresh approach to traditional dining, and through his tireless efforts and the support of his sons, Greg and David, that vision came to life. The Vintage Press quickly earned its place as one of Central California's most distinctive restaurants, celebrated for its creativity and farm-to-table sensibility.
For 30 years, Greg Vartanian, a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, led the kitchen and developed the menu. He eventually passed the role of Head Chef to his brother David. Greg now serves as Strategic Director where he's passionately focused on food and beverage innovation and as 'guiding light' for the continued delivery of exceptional service.
Today, The Vintage Press consistently earns 5-star reviews from both local and out-of-town visitors alike. It's listed as a California Top 10 Restaurant, praised by the LA Times as a “bastion of culinary merit,” and recognized by Fodor’s Restaurant Review for its selection of more than 900 wines - with Wine Spectator magazine lauding The Vintage Press as having “one of the best wine lists in the world.”
With four distinct rooms, a charming garden, and shifting menus that reflect the seasons, The Vintage Press extends a dining experience unlike any other!
